Camp is directed by Coach Billy Huebner and is designed for the “Big Man”. Criteria for camp is a weight of 160 (180) pounds or more and/or heavyweight wrestlers from 8th-12th grades.
NOTE! If you are UNDER 180 pounds, you must bring a partner and you are excluded from the Big Man Tournament.
You will learn from the staff what it takes to be a great “Big Man” on the mat! Big wrestlers have different needs. The “Big Man’s” program will focus on the technical needs of larger wrestlers.
The camp has a lot of instruction and technique, so you will be very active at camp. Counselors will be current Luther upper weight wrestlers mixed with other college counselors. We emphasize modified technique for the Big Man. The camp includes daily instruction, supervised drilling, unique techniques, lifting sessions, wrestling warm up sessions, Big Man Tournament and several hours of daily mat time and a lot of match experience! Upper weights wrestle differently; let us give you the edge.
All wrestlers will receive two workout t-shirts, shorts, water bottle, team picture, individual photo, swag bag, and a folder with workout plans from the camp lifting and warm up session.

All wrestlers will receive two workout T-Shirts, shorts, water bottle, team picture, individual photo, swag bag, and a folder with workout plans from the camp lifting and warm up sessions.
This camp is open to those who have the big man trait and attitude. We will show tips and techniques that allow upper weights and heavyweights to accomplish their goals.
Each day will consist of 4 to 5 hours of technique, instruction, drilling and training. Each session will be followed by a question-and-answer period and ending with technique session review where campers will be expected to take notes
For challenge matches, wrestlers will be matched according to age and ability level. The Big Man Tournament will be seeded 1-24 and top 24 placement matches.
There is a limited enrollment so each camper will have an ideal camper-to-clinician ratio (approximately 10:1) and receive plenty of individual instruction.
You will wrestle with individuals from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. In the past, we have had wrestlers attend this unique Big Man on Campus Camp from across the country including the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, California, Louisiana, Missouri, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Ohio and Texas.
WE WANT YOU AT THE BIG MAN CAMP! Learn great technique, experience a lot of matches, have fun, meet new friends for life, experience the Iowa lifestyle and get memorable moments in this journey.
